Bio

Pastor Rodney J. Finch Sr.
Pastor Rodney Finch serves as a senior pastor in Apex, North Carolina. Before coming to North Carolina, he lived in Southern California with his wife and children.
Pastor Rodney was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of a single parent. His mother was a hard-working woman who managed to pay the tuition to send her two sons to Catholic School on a very small annual salary. Although he attended religious studies, he never saw the need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
As an inner-city youth, he got involved in the lifestyle and activities of many inner-city youth. Those activities then produced a series of challenges and difficulties through Jr. High and High School; however, by the grace of God, he graduated with his graduating class of 1978.
In 1979, Pastor Rodney joined the U.S. Navy and became a hospital corpsman. He successfully completed Hospital Corpse School.
On January 23, 1982, Pastor Rodney accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and was delivered by the Power of God. From that day his life has never been the same.
He was shipped off to Okinawa, Japan in 1983 and stationed with the Marine Corps. In 1990, he received orders to Operation Desert Storm, Saudi Arabia. During much of his military experience, he was stationed at Camp Pendleton in California. After 13 years of service, Pastor Rodney was released from active duty, at this time feeling a call from God. Three years later Pastor Rodney and his family moved to North Carolina with not much more than the clothes they owned a few pieces of furniture for the children, no jobs, and started the very first Calvary Chapel in the Raleigh Area with 17 people.

After almost 30 years the ministry of Pastor Rodney continues to prosper, in many areas of community involvement and international ministry.
As President and founder of the Calvary Chapel Training Center in Hyderabad India, the focus of the center is to teach Indian pastors and leaders from India and the surrounding areas, (Pakistan, Bangladesh with interest in Nepal,) the importance of scripture and how to teach the bible verse-by-verse.
God has blessed Pastor Rodney with a wonderful gift of joy, and humor as he teaches the Word of God. Pastor Rodney has a beautiful heart of Worship and an incredible ability to teach God’s Word plainly and simply, and relevant without compromise. An important motto concerning the teaching of God’s Word for Pastor Rodney is “Simply Teach the Word Simply” and this is exactly what he does. The hand of God is clearly seen in the life and ministry of Pastor Rodney, and the ministries locally and internationally and he continues to grow as pastor and public speaker
One of Pastor Rodney’s favorite quotes: “I’m just a nobody, trying to tell everybody, about somebody, who can change anybody."
